Simple Steps

Lasting Benefits

Hello mummy 👋

Hope this message finds you energised and happy! I went to bed at 9pm last night, after watching a movie about Jeffrey Epstein, called Scoop. It is a goodie, I recommend!

Today, before I head to the farmers market. I'd like to share one of my guiding principles in parenting, especially when it comes to sleep: The only real shortcut is not taking shortcuts.

I see the quest for quick sleep fixes every day, but genuine, lasting sleep habits for your babies and toddlers need time and consistency. Sleep isn't just about the hours spent in bed; it is about emotional and mental wellness too.

That is what I like to do:

Build Connection Before Bedtime

Elevate your bedtime routine by dedicating time to connect. We do SB’s or silly buggers before bed. Rough and tumble play basically.  These moments are precious. They ease the transition to bedtime, reinforcing our relationship and setting the stage for a calm night.

Establish a Loving Bedtime Routine

A consistent bedtime routine isn’t just helpful; it’s transformative. It signals to baby/toddler that it's time to wind down and rest.

Example of a bedtime routine..

1. Warm Bath: Begin with a warm bath to help with relaxation vibes.

2. Silly buggers or Rough And Tumble play: Follow this play up with gentle cuddles or a light massage.

3. Story time : Opt for calming books, we are loving the Pip and Posy Series.

4. Affirmations: End by tucking in and expressing your love and appreciation, reinforcing positive vibes to end the day.

The journey of sleep is a marathon, not a sprint. While overnight success is tempting, the benefits of investing in these habits will blossom over time 🩷

Wishing you and your fam a happy Saturday. We have a busy one ahead:

Farmers market, swimming class, dance class then a trip to the mountains for lunch with friends at a taverna. Will keep you updated on my insta stories.
