Case Study with The Sleep Goddess

I am working with a parent. For privacy's sake, let's name her Sarah.

Sarah is a loving mum who struggled with her baby's sleep patterns.

Her little one would have sporadic sleep cycles, leaving Sarah feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

When I got on a call with Sarah, she was exhibiting three toxic mindsets that commonly hold parents back from finding long-term solutions for their baby's sleep.

#1 - The all-or-nothing mindset: Sarah had a mindset of extremes when it came to her baby's sleep. She saw success or failure as binary. Either her baby slept through the night perfectly, or it was a complete disaster. This mindset led to frustration and feelings of helplessness whenever her baby experienced a sleep regression or a rough night.

#2 - The quick-fix mindset: Sarah was impatient and sought fast solutions to her baby's sleep issues. She wanted immediate results and would often try different sleep training methods in hopes of a quick fix. However, these temporary solutions only provided short-term relief and didn't address the underlying causes of her baby's sleep struggles.

Instead of expecting overnight success, Sarah needed to understand that building healthy sleep habits takes time and patience.

#3 - Negative self-image & belief systems: Sarah carried with her the belief that she was failing as a mother because her baby wasn't sleeping well. She internalized feelings of guilt and inadequacy, which only added to her stress and anxiety surrounding her baby's sleep.

Thankfully, Sarah had my support, and through education, guidance, and personalised strategies, I helped her shift her mindset and approach to her baby's sleep.

By focusing on consistency, patience, and understanding her baby's unique needs, Sarah was able to create a nurturing sleep environment and establish healthy sleep habits for her little one.

In the end, Sarah experienced the joy of seeing her baby sleep peacefully (not through the night, but 2 wake ups, she could handle this.)

She gained confidence and peace of mind as a parent. With a newfound sense of empowerment, Sarah was able to navigate future sleep challenges with resilience.
